HbA1c, or hemoglobin A1c, is a laboratory test designed to measure the average amount of red blood cells attached to glucose. Why exactly 90 days? This timeframe perfectly matches the natural lifespan of human red blood cells. Because of this, the test acts as an incredibly honest monitor.
