Proponents of this diet urge people to ditch acidic foods to change their body's pH. However, a major review of thousands of studies found absolutely no evidence that an acid-rich diet causes cancer, specifically bladder cancer.

Here is the reality check: Your body is a master at homeostasis. It naturally maintains a blood pH of around 7.4. No matter how much kale or alkaline water you consume, you cannot significantly alter your body's pH level through diet alone.
