SEPSIS DISEASE SCREENING PANEL

Patients with sepsis or suspected sepsis may undergo investigations to help make a diagnosis that can identify the type and location of infection and can determine the severity of infection to assist with treatment therapy.
1. Laboratory Examination

• Full Blood
Aims to detect infections, blood disorders, liver or kidney function and electrolyte imbalances.
• Blood Gas Analysis
It is recommended to determine the level of oxygen in the blood and determine the level of acidity of the blood.
• Blood Culture
to detect the presence of micro-organisms in the blood.
• CRP (C-Reactive Protein) and IL-6 (Interleukin 6) and Procalcitonin
to detect inflammation or monitor disease severity.

2. Non-Laboratory Examination

X-ray and Ultrasound (USG)
To detect the presence or absence of abnormal conditions in the organs in the body.
