HEART DISEASE is the highest cause of death in the world
Wed, 30 Nov 2022
Several years ago, the main cause of death in the world was infectious disease, but now heart and blood vessel disease has become the top cause of death in the world, even more than cancer that is feared by society.
Heart disease occurs due to blockage of the heart's blood vessels known as coronary arteries. Coronary vessels can experience narrowing due to crust or fatty plaques attached to their walls.
This plaque can form at an early age (children or teenagers) and at an older age, the coronary arteries will experience blockages.
Be a hero for your heart by always keeping it in good health.
Now it turns out that heart attacks can occur at a younger age. At the age of 30 to 40 years, even in your 20s, especially if you have diabetes or have a smoking habit. (dr. Dasdo Antonius Sinaga, SpJP(K), FIHA).
There are several risk factors for heart disease, including:
1. Main risk factors
• Dyslipidemia (blood lipid disorders)
• Hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Diabetes mellitus (diabetes)
• Smoker
2. Additional risk factors
• Lack of physical activity
• Stress
• Hyperuricemia (uric acid levels above normal)
• Triglyceride levels above normal
Heart Disease Prevention
• Do not smoke
• Exercising regularly
• Consuming complete and balanced nutritious food
• Carrying out routine health check-ups (Medical Check Up)
