HEALTH CHECK BEFORE THE MONTH OF RAMADHAN
Fri, 8 Apr 2022
Fasting in the month of Ramadan for Muslims is an obligation. Doing Ramadan fasting is a way to detoxify or remove toxic substances from the body naturally. Fasting can also be used to control health levels.
Other supporting examinations such as laboratory tests need to be carried out before and even after performing a series of Ramadan fasting.
The examination can be about the health history you have or it can be comprehensive because of a family history of illness or never knowing any previous health conditions.
Routine laboratory investigations before fasting during Ramadan include the following:
• Complete urine
• Liver function (SGOT SGPT)
• Kidney Function (BUN, Creatinine, Uric Acid)
• Blood fat levels (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL)
• Sugar levels (Fasting blood sugar, 2 hours after eating, HbA1C)
Examination after or after fasting Ramadan, should also be done exactly the same as the examination before fasting or choose the type of examination obtained from values outside normal limits. By choosing the same examination as before fasting Ramadan, we will find out what changes occur after we do the right diet during Ramadan.
Preparation and examination materials:
For laboratory tests, patients are asked to prepare for fasting beforehand for 10 – 12 hours. Examination materials / samples used are blood from veins and urine.
