Detoxification, also known as detox, refers to a variety of methods used to flush "toxins“ out of the body.


In this digital era, many people are addicted to the digital world, which can make them anxious when they miss information from the internet, which has been associated with FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

Such dependency on the online world has toxic effects to the mental health of many.


To clean the ‘toxins’ caused by the dependency of digital world, digital detox has been introduced.

What is digital detox, and what are the benefits?

A digital detox is a period of time during which someone refrains from using technological devices such as smartphones, televisions, computers, tablets, and social media platforms. Here are several digital detox tips for you:

Turn your phone or phone notifications off at specific times, such as 3-4 hours before going to bed at night.

Keep your phone away from your bed to reduce the desire to check on notifications

Limit your time on social media by setting a maximum duration to spend on it every day (for example, use Screen Time or Digital Wellbeing)

Distract your attention from the screen to other activities to spend your time, such as physical activities (e.g. walking) and socialization in the real word.
