Coronary Heart Disease
Sat, 22 Feb 2020
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is one of cardiovascular diseases, is one of the first causes of death to date. Coronary heart disease (CHD) involves the reduction of blood flow to the heart muscle due to narrowing/clogging by atherosclerotic plaque deposits so that the transportation process energy material is disrupted and results in weakening or death of heart cells.
This narrowing or blockage causes heartburn and spreading to the left or right arm with cold sweat that lasts more than 20 minutes, this is a sign of a heart attack. A heart attack occurs when coronary arteries suddenly narrowed or severely blocked.
Statistically, someone with cardiovascular risk factors will have a higher tendency to suffer from coronary disorders than those without risk factors. The risk factors in question are
- hereditary history
- hypercholesterolemia
- high blood pressure
- diabetes
- smoking habit
- lack of movement
- Increasing consumption of processed fast food
The risk of heart disease in men begins at the age of 45 years, while in women, it begins to increase at the age of 55 years.
If you have a family history of suffering from coronary heart disease or died suddenly at a "young" age (men under 55 years old, women under 65 years), you may also inherit heart-damaging genes. Factors that "fate" they can not be changed, but if you can control other risk factors, you have the opportunity to continue to have a healthy heart until old age.
The habit of physical activity can improve blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels can even reduce weight. Regular physical activity (exercise) combined with a healthy lifestyle, such as a low-fat diet, smoking cessation, and blood pressure control, will erode the potential for thickening and hardening of the walls in blood vessels (atherosclerosis).
