Young Generation in Indonesia: Millennials and Gen Z, Who Cares More About the Environment

Amidst the rapid pace of modernization, two young generations in Indonesia, millennials and Gen Z, are under the spotlight. With a combined population of 144.87 million people, roughly 53.81% of Indonesia's total population, these two generations play a crucial role in shaping the nation's future.

Millennials and Gen Z share a common concern for environmental issues. A staggering 67% of millennials and 66% of Gen Z are willing to pay more to save the planet. They also show support for gender equality, with 54% of millennials and 52% of Gen Z viewing it positively.

However, the main challenge for both these generations lies in education. Only 39% complete their education up to high school level, with merely 10% continuing to higher education. This situation could potentially hinder Indonesia's economic growth in the future as educated young generations are vital for national development.

Therefore, young people need to emphasize awareness of the challenges and opportunities ahead since Gen Z is key for Indonesia's current development stage. It is important to get closer insights into Generation Z – how they communicate and engage – in order to understand how they can contribute towards Indonesia's future.
