Stop Underestimate Fever

Fever is the body's defense mechanism against infection, the occurrence of fever shows a symptom of a disease.
As we know, every year in Indonesia is identical
with the rainy season. The rainy season triggers various kinds of annual diseases, including: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Dengue Fever is an endemic disease in Indonesia and cases of dengue fever can be found throughout the year. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also recorded a more than 15-fold increase in cases over the past two decades. From 505,430 cases in 2000 to more than 2,400,138 in 2010 and 3,312,040 in 2015. Deaths from 2000 to 2015 also increased from 960 to more than 4,032.

In the rainy season like this, the most common diseases are Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and ISPA (Upper Respiratory Infection).

1. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a type of infectious disease in the rainy season caused by the Dengue virus carried by the Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopictus mosquitoes. This type of mosquito is often found when it rains because during this season, there are lots of stagnant water which is a breeding ground for them. Symptoms of Dengue Fever include:
- high fever up to 40 °C
- severe headache
- pain in joints, muscles and bones
- nausea and vomiting
- reddish rash about 2-5 days after fever
bleeding from the nose, gums or under the skin.

2. ARI

ARI or Upper Respiratory Infection is an infection that attacks the upper respiratory tract. The parts of the upper respiratory tract that are affected can include the nose, sinuses, pharynx and larynx. The most common cause of ARI is a viral infection or bacterial infection. ARI is very contagious and can be experienced by anyone, especially children and the elderly. Symptoms of ARI are not only concerned with one or two signs. Because, the infection that attacks the upper respiratory can cause various complaints. Here are some of the symptoms of ARDs that people with:
- fever
nasal congestion and colds
- dry cough without phlegm
- sore throat
- headache
- rapid breathing or difficulty breathing.

Prevention that we can do is to maintain endurance by:
1. Get enough rest
2. Take mutivitamins,
3. Eat regularly and drink lots of water,
4. Maintain personal hygiene and the environment.
