Myths / Facts: Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Tue, 8 Feb 2022You must have heard of drinking water as much as 8 times in a day? Does this suggestion just myth or any research that supports it?
In fact, this number is not right for everyone. Many factors affect some lots of water that should be taken in a day.
The liquid needs of each person vary. Adults, water requirements per day are recommended that are about eight glasses measuring 230 ml or a total of 2 liters.
Drinking water is highly recommended because many benefits for health:
Keep dehydration
Maintain health joints and muscles
Maintain concentration
Increase stamina
According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, apart from drinks, fluid can also be obtained from food intake which is around 20%. Fluid from food can be obtained from consumption of fruit and vegetables that contain lots of water, such as watermelon containing 90% of water.
