Myth/Fact: Napping Affects Night Sleep

Mon, 15 Nov 2021
Napping is actually healthy. Even if it's for a while, your body will feel more refreshed after waking up from a nap. But is it true that when taking a nap can affect the quality of our night sleep? Is this just a myth or is it fact?

This assumption is proven to be just a myth, because according to research napping actually improves the quality of sleep at night. A 2011 study confirmed that the quality of a night's sleep doesn't always have to be compromised by napping habits. In fact, the body becomes more fit because the total rest time is longer.

The results of the examination of memory function and mental processing on the participants showed an improvement after being accustomed to napping for a full month.

For those who often stay up late either because of overtime or having trouble sleeping at night, napping can help restore energy by fulfilling the lack of rest time. It's good to have the opportunity to sleep for 7-8 hours without interruption, but sometimes that's hard to do.
