Myth About Exercise During The Fasting Month
Sun, 24 Mar 2024There are several myths and facts about exercise during the fasting month that we need to discuss.
Myth 1: Morning Exercise is the Best
Fact: Exercising in the morning while fasting is not always ideal. Morning workouts can cause the body to lose energy more quickly, making us feel weak and hungry throughout the day. Especially for diabetics, this can increase the risk of dangerous hypoglycemia.
Myth 2: You Shouldn't Exercise While Fasting
Fact: Exercise can still be done during the fasting month, but at the right time. It is recommended to exercise closer to iftar time or after performing Tarawih prayers. This helps keep the body healthy without the risk of sudden blood sugar drops.
Myth 3: Exercise Should Be Intense at the Beginning of Fasting
Fact: It's better to avoid intense exercise at the beginning of fasting. The body needs time to adapt to changes in eating patterns during the fasting month. Start with low intensity and gradually increase it throughout the month.
So, although there are several myths about exercise during the fasting month, it is important to understand the facts behind them. With proper time and intensity management, exercise can still be a part of a healthy lifestyle during the fasting month.
