Millenials Face Serious Health Problem
Fri, 17 Mar 2023According to a recent study, 44% of people born between 1981 and 1996, or the millennial generation, have a chronic health condition.
In contrast to acute health problems, which are temporary, chronic health conditions and symptoms last for several months and must be managed over time.
These are the six HEALTH issues that Millenials face.
- Headaches
Migraine headaches are the most common chronic health issue reported by millennials.
Headaches can also be caused by sinus pain, hormonal fluctuations, or eyestrain from prolonged use of a computer or other device.
- Emotional Disorders
Depression is reported often identified now amongst millennials, as they have more different types of stressors that they have to manage
- Asthma
Asthma is a chronic lung disease . Asthma can be triggered by smoking and vaping, which are now popular trends among millenials.
- Type 2 diabetes
Obesity is a major problem among millennials, and type 2 diabetes is linked to obesity. Type 2 diabetes also has a strong genetic component.
- Liquor Issues
People who are addicted to alcohol are frequently unable to stop drinking once they begin. Some people drink to deal with or "medicate" their emotional problems.
- High blood pressure
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a chronic condition that increases the risk of having a stroke or having a heart attack. Hypertension is now often diagnosed in millennials.
How to Prevent Chronic Diseases
Many lifestyle factors contribute to the prevention of these HEALTH issues. Maintaining a healthy body weight, eating a diet high in fiber and low in saturated fat and sodium, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly can help prevent type 2 diabetes, hypertension, depression, and headaches.
