What is Toxic Masculinity?

Toxic masculinity is like an invisible poison. It seeps into our thoughts and behaviors without us realizing it. It’s a set of norms that require men to always appear strong, dominant, and never show emotions. However, behind this 'manliness' mask, many men are actually hurt and pressured.

Why Should It Be Watched Out For?

This toxic masculinity lifestyle can make it hard for men to open up about their feelings. The result? Many end up bottling up stress, depression, which can even lead to aggressive behavior. Not only that, toxic masculinity can make human relationships stiff. Men trapped in this mindset often struggle to accept or provide warmth and comfort.

Let's Fight Toxic Masculinity!

It’s never too late to fight toxic masculinity. Starting with ourselves, we can change our perspective on what it means to be 'masculine.' Remember, showing emotions is human, and it has nothing to do with gender.

1.    Express Yourself: Don’t be afraid to show your feelings. Sadness, happiness, disappointment, all of them are important to express.

2.    Empathy is Cool: Learn to understand and feel what others are going through. This will make you a warmer and more approachable person.

3.    Respect Women: Stop saying or thinking things that demean women, like “You take forever to shower, just like a girl!” Why demean women? We are all the same, with the

same feelings and rights.

4.    Choose Healthy Entertainment: Pay attention to what you watch or read. Make sure it doesn’t reinforce toxic masculinity stereotypes.
