Hey, Don't Just Kiss the Baby Carelessly
Mon, 19 Feb 2024If you see a chubby, round-cheeked baby, nobody would believe it if someone said they don't find them adorable and want to kiss them. But hold on for a moment! It can be dangerous for the baby. What's wrong?
Well, here's the thing: babies have a very sensitive immune system. Their skin is thin, and their immune system is still weak. Let's discuss why we need to be cautious when kissing a baby!
1. RSV Infection
RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is highly contagious respiratory virus. Babies infected with RSV may experience difficulty breathing, particularly if they are premature. So it's better to keep your distance.
2. Herpes Simplex Type 1
Herpes can be transmitted through kisses. This virus can cause sores around the mouth area and even pose serious risks if it spreads to other parts of the baby's face.
3.Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease (HFMD)
This disease can spread through physical contact such as kissing or hugging. Although not fatal, HFMD can cause issues for the baby.
4.Allergies
Ladies who wear cosmetics should be careful too! Babies may develop allergies due to cosmetics that cause skin irritation or allergic reactions.
5.Tooth Decay (Cavities)
Cavities are caused by bacteria called streptococcus mutans which can be transmitted to babies through kisses or sharing food.
6.Weakened Immune System
Babies are vulnerable to diseases, so always make sure that our hands are clean before touching them Don't unknowingly transmit any diseases!
So from now on, if you want to kiss a baby, make sure your hands are clean and ask permission from their parents first.
The health of the baby must come first!"
