Getting Over FOMO, Fear of Missing Out

Thu, 25 May 2023

People who either overcommit and don't fulfill many of their commitments or decide to avoid agreements and commitments as much as possible might suffer from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).

The suggestions below can help you break away from FOMO and improve the quality of your relationships as well as your general wellbeing.

1. Decide to cut out some of the things that don't increase the quality of your life experience and exercise discernment in deciding what is actually important and necessary from what is merely desirable. Say "no" more often and to more things.

2. Consider the experience rather than the label. Pleasure is amazing and is not dependent on a specific brand. Attempt to enjoy the thrill of our own experience. Avoiding envy of someone's possessions or life will help.

3. Needs are limited. Desires are endless. Choose your top priorities and concentrate on them. At a time, just one thing. One action request can only be processed by the human brain at once.

Engage in mindfulness. We can carefully work toward the deep satisfaction that comes with the development of mindfulness—the practice of being present in our lives and offering nonjudgmental awareness to our moment-to-moment experience—instead of chasing after what might only be an illusion of happiness.

4. Develop a spirit of thankfulness. Gratitude enables us to count our blessings in the here and now, while life is genuinely happening.

Allow yourself to enjoy yout life and the experiences within. Losing FOMO improves not only your life, but everyone near’s too.
