Iftar: From the Arabic language, iftar means breaking fast. This moment is usually celebrated with a dinner feast together, strengthening the bonds among Muslim community members.
Bukber: Short for buka bersama, bukber has become an eagerly awaited tradition during Ramadan. This event serves as a reunion gathering that strengthens relationships among friends, family, and communities.
Mokah: Similar to mokel, mokah is a term for breaking fast earlier than usual. It means someone breaks their fast by eating or drinking before Maghrib.
Godin: Popular among Sundanese people, godin refers to breaking fast before the designated time. This term is similar to mokel and mokah but specifically used in the Sunda region.
Budim: An abbreviation for buka diam-diam (breaking fast secretly), budim describes someone who secretly breaks their fast during the day and then pretends to continue fasting as usual.
These terms add color to Ramadan celebrations by illustrating various unique situations and habits that occur during the fasting month.
