Examination for ANEMIA SCREENING

Wed, 6 Jan 2021
Anemia is a condition when the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin (oxygen-carrying protein) in red blood cells is below normal.
Often anemia caused by excessive bleeding, excessive hemolysis of red blood cells or deficient red cell formation (ineffective hematopoiesis).

Supporting Examination

If you begin to experience signs and symptoms of anemia, you can immediately come to the nearest doctor or health facility for a series of checks, such as medical history and laboratory tests to support it so that it can be diagnosed immediately and get the right treatment.

Laboratory tests that can be done to find out whether we have anemia or not are to check hemoglobin (Hb) levels and further tests, including: complete hematology, reticulocytes, blood smears, iron content (serum iron, TIBC, feriitin), asthma levels. folate, G-6-PD, vitamin B12 and Hb electrophoresis.

The sample used for examination was venous blood with no special preparation prior to previous specimen collection.
