BEWARE OF TRANSMISSION SEASON DISEASES
Thu, 20 Jan 2022
For almost 2 years, we have struggled with the Covid 19 pandemic. As we all know, the beginning of every year is identical with the transition season. We must always be aware of the various possible diseases that will arise by knowing what seasonal diseases are. In the rainy season like this, the most common diseases that arise include dengue hemorrhagic fever, typhoid fever, diarrhea and ARI.
1. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever.
Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a type of infectious disease in the rainy season caused by the dengue virus carried by the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. This type of mosquito is often found when it rains because in this season, there are many puddles of water that become a breeding ground.
2. Typhoid Fever.
Typhoid fever or also known as 'typhoid' is an infection caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi. Transmission of this disease through the food consumed is contaminated by feces containing Salmonella Typhii bacteria. Poor sanitation and limited access to clean water are believed to be the main causes of the development of typhoid.
3. Diarrhea.
Diarrhea is prone to occur if personal and environmental hygiene are not maintained properly. In the dry season, the supply of clean water will usually decrease, while in the rainy season it is due to the mixing of dirt and garbage with overflowing water. Diarrhea is characterized by an increase in the frequency of bowel movements that can be more than 3 times a day accompanied by changes in the texture of the bowel movements to become liquid.
4. ARI.
ARI or Upper Respiratory Tract Infection is an infection that attacks the human respiratory tract. The most common cause of ARI is influenza virus infection or bacterial infection. ARI is highly contagious and can be experienced by anyone, especially children and the elderly.
Prevention that we can do such as maintaining the immune system by getting enough rest and taking multivitamins, eating regularly and drinking lots of water, maintaining personal hygiene and the surrounding environment.
