Aerobic Gymnastics Has an Anti-Depressant Effect

According to data from the WHO, there are 300 million people in the world who are diagnosed with depression, this figure is also diagnosed with anxiety disorders, aka anxiety.

A study from the University of Thessaly, Greece, found an alternative activity that can relieve depression, namely aerobic exercise. This is evidenced through a study entitled "Aerobic Exercise for Adult Patients with Major Depressive Disorder in Mental Health Services: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis."

Researchers involved 455 adults aged 18-65 years diagnosed with major depression, who were asked to do aerobic exercise under the supervision of an instructor with an average duration of 45 minutes, 3 times a week, in a period of 9.2 weeks.

Researchers found a change in the condition of the participants, that aerobic exercise regularly and under supervision was proven to have a positive anti-depressant effect. The participants showed a decrease in the intensity of depressive symptoms after doing aerobic exercise regularly.
