ADHD: Millennial Mental Disorders
Tue, 15 Dec 2020
Along with modern times, mental disorders, which are generally experienced by adults, these days are also experienced by adolescents.
Millennials are very vulnerable to various health problems, such as anxiety disorders, depression, and ADHD. ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a mental disorder that causes its sufferers to have difficulty in focusing as well as having impulsive and hyperactive behaviors.
Quoting from the World Health Organization (WHO), 10-20% of adolescents are experienced mental disorders, whether consciously or not.
People with ADHD usually have difficulty in focusing, which can lead to impulsive and hyperactive behavior.
Children and Adults with Attention - Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder stated that some teenagers do not realize they suffer ADHD because they do not show symptoms at first. Usually, symptoms will be finally noticed when the mental condition is severe enough. There are several signs of ADHD, such as difficulty concentrating/focusing and listening to other people, easily distracted, not paying attention to small things, unable to sit quietly, difficulty managing tasks or activities that are being carried out, talking too much, interrupting other people's activities, as well as the habit of moving several parts of the body while sitting.
As people get older, people with ADHD will experience disruption in their education and work. Also, people with ADHD will have a hard time making friends or spouses.
